From very beginning of human civilization the question came on human mind what is the purpose of our life? What am I doing here? What is the point of it all? What is the reasoning of existence of human life?
Over thousands and thousands years there have been debates among the members of the intellectual society as to the subject of existence and purpose behind it.
The subject ‘’purpose of existence’’ is not a very easy subject rather it is complex one as this subject can be discussed from many different perspectives. Such as Religious and Philosophical perspectives or humanistic and existential perspective.
Religious and philosophical perspectives or humanistic and existentialist perspective both related with personal identity, death, life after death, being , free will and pre –destination.
Religious or humanistic perspectives of the ‘’purpose of existence’’ is the belief that ‘’what will be will be’’ all the event of human life including its beginning of existence all the things after that all past, present and future have already been pre-determined by God or powerful force such as ‘’Fate, Nature ,etc.’’. This belief also generally known as a Fatalism.
Fatalism is related to the idea that every event has a cause and that everything in the universe is absolutely dependent on and governed by causal laws. This idea known as Determinism.
Determinism is typically thought to be incompatible with free will.
Free will is the freedom of choice or self-determinism that human being possess. That means person whatever he did he had another option but he choose whatever he did.
The concept of free will brings another view that there are events that do not have any cause. That simply means that the acts of choice are independents of any physiological or psychological cause. This view known as Indeterminism.
The concept of free will and Indeterminism seems to be contradict the core belief of the religious or humanistic perspective ‘’what will be will be ‘’ everything pre –determined by God or God omniscient.
In my book I will try to discuss in details about this contradiction.
